Well, once again (or, still) I am without Internet access at home. After I contacted them yesterday morning, they told me there was a problem, but had no resolution estimate. Well, as long as they knew about it, I figured that’s cool. When it was still out after work yesterday, I called and they had no idea what was going on. WTF? So, they’re sending somebody out today “between noon and 5:00.” And of course I have to figure out how to get home to deal with it. This could be the last straw to make me jump over to FiOS (even if it means I’ll need to start paying for it myself again). No Internet, and I can’t drink beer due to the high levels of Ibuprofen I’m taking. This sucks. On the bright side, it actually makes me glad to get to work. Aint that a revoltin’ development.
A hectic day, today. Tomorrow is hubby’s cataract operation and so we are headed into the city this afternoon.
Vern, I hope you’re on the mend and able to eat and PJ I hope your arm and shoulder are also on the mend.
My boss called to tell me I may only be working 2 days a week, a mixed blessing, but one I’m sure I can make the best of and my cousin emailed me to day he was taking a masters degree and would I take over his job as executor of our mutual cousin’s estate (very small estate and many beneficiaries). So, next year I will probably be busier and poorer. Oh well.
Anyone want to sponsor my bike ride across America? I don’t have a bike yet, but I’m thinking next summer I’ll try to ride from Peace Arch State Park in Blaine to Key West. I figure the trip shouldn’t last more than 3 to 4 months.

Good luck with that cataract thing. My friend did it and fell in love with life.
I am a little better. Eating gingerly, still a few flushbacks.
Fun day today. A hearing about a disputed garbage lien, appeal a bogus parking ticket, IRS E-payment. Gubment day and I think I am losing. Where’s my tea bags?
Why not somewhere in Maine to San Diego, Travis. Lobster is cheap(er) these days and friends along the way. I don’t recommend the Southeast in the summertime.

Gail Collins on with Maddow tonight.
Thanks, Vern. I saw her. She and Rachel seem genuinely delighted at the prospect of an election, even the coming midterms.
