For anyone who doesn’t watch Keith Olbermann, each night on his show, Keith picks the three “worst people in the world.” Last night, in what may be an unprecedented feat, the falafel fool himself hit the trifecta, being named the worse, worser, and worst person(s) in the world.
Billy was cited for being “this generation’s Joe McCarthy,” for compiling his own enemies list of those who have defamed him (“You call it defamation, Bill. We call it precise quotes from your show. “)
Big bad Billy took the runner-up prize with his quote on the Today show (as an aside, is anybody old enough to remember when the Today show was a news program?), “These pinheads running around going, ‘Get out of Iraq now,’ don’t know what they’re talking about. These are the same people before Hitler invaded in World War II that were saying, ‘Ah, he’s not such a bad guy.'”
And the winner of the Worst Person in the World? Well, put down that pipe and get my pipe up, because it’s none other than Bill O’Lielly for his anti-anti-Christmas crusade.
“The thing designed to stir up religious hatred and paranoia in this country? Guess what they’re selling over at the Fox News online store? The Fox News “Holiday” ornament! And the O’Reilly Factor “Holiday” ornament. Who is trying to change “Merry Christmas” into “Happy Holidays”? Bill O’Reilly, that’s who. Today’s worst person in the world!”
Crooks and Liars has the video.
Update: After Media Matters for America busted them for it, the Fox News online swag has been renamed “Christmas” ornaments, and references to “your holiday tree” now refer to “your Christmas tree.”
I needed a good laugh like this. Not being the most computer savy person around and pretty new to blogging (never did it until I got upset about DG’s evil orders), I realize now that I keep forgetting to log out. Is that why I was just able to come in this time w/oproviding my password. Was I still logged on even though I had left for many hours and even been forced to restart my computer.
Wasn’t Marc amazing today. All his strengths came through today. I wonder if Board people have even listened to his show.
By he way, I sent e-mail to Randi yesterday after her non interview with Cyndy Sheehan. I was so embarrassed by Randi’s inability to listen andlet Cyndy speak that I literally screamed at her. Since she was too far way to hear me, I sent her an e-mail. I actually think she may have taken it into account, or, perhaps, her producers said something. She was much better with James Woolcott today, but then again he is an experienced radio person. Randi seemed to be wroking hard to hold her tongue and managed to do so until the final minute or so of the interview. It must have been hard for her, but she did it.
I love Randi’s show. I often do not agree with her views on female issues–not women’s issues, and what is yucky. So I don’t know whether Ishould boycott AAR or night. I also love listening to Laura and Ring of Fire, but they do not air at times that are convenient for me. Will you be boycotting AAR?
Thanks again pj for all that you have done. I wish I lived in NYC so I could picket AAR.
Good night,
Dani aka DrDance
I think the default is to log you in automatically when you come back, so if you didn’t change that, you shouldn’t have to log back in again if you’re on the same computer.
Did you see Olbermann tonight? He opened the show with an audio clip of Tim Robbins and Marc on Morning Sedition. The story was about Hillary’s “problem” with supporting the war, and still trying to equivocate about it even now that we all know it was bullshit.
I wish I lived in NYC, too. Well, not really, but it would be good for setting up a protest at AAR headquarters. I won’t do much boycott AAR as much as I just won’t listen to anything on a regular basis. I don’t have an affiliate, so I have to make an effort to download the podcasts or get the stream going. The only show that I literally set aside time to listen to is Morning Sedition. I’ll catch a little Majority Report here and there, and some of the weekend shows, but that’s about it. Really, this whole thing has left such a bad taste in my mouth, I have little or no desire to listen.
It’s too bad. I had such high hopes for Air America, and eagerly awaited it’s premiere. Now, well, I almost don’t care anymore.
It is a shame. After listening to the second or third week, I was hooked. Now I need to figure out how to change my routine w/o MS.
FIRETRUCK! (Just one more time.)
Ditto to the above.
Life without Morning Sedition will be even bleaker.:sad:
