Hey, they love that Bush down there in South America, don’t they? I think he ought to just stay down there. Send Cheney down there, too. I hope Bush makes a speech in his pigeon Spanish down there in Brazil (no knowing, of course, that they speak Portuguese down there). “¡Engáñeme avergüenzo una vez en, ajá, pues…do no obtiene, ajá…la vergüenza en…la vergüenza…uh, pues. ..do no es engañado otra vez!”
Have a good Friday.
Okay W, you really are a pendejo.
Hey, anyone know when Maron’s HBO show with that wonkette bimbo starts? :sammy:
Hey, they love that Bush down there in South America, don’t they?
Last night during the news on Univision, they did a piece on the protests in Sao Paolo. I really enjoyed looking at the protest signs that said “(something in Portuguese) Bush” and guessing what the first word was. Not that I know a lot of Portuguese swear words, but it can be fun to make up your own.
Tonight I get to make up my own Spanish swear words. 😀
Hey, things are looking up. Lets make the repugs vote for the war, and make Bush veto the draw down resolution. That’s the shitty way the game is played. Messy, huh? :sammy:
Good Morning :joe:
Has anyone ever tried any of these suggestions?
THINGS YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR CELL PHONE COULD DO.
There are a few things that can be done in times of
grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be
a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check
out the things that you can do with it:
FIRST
Subject: Emergency
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112.
If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your
mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112
and the mobile will search any existing network to
establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly
this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
Try it out. (I have entered in my cell phone number
directory.)
SECOND
Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come
in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If
you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at
home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your
cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your
car door and have the person at your home press the unlock
button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end.
Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive
your keys to you.
Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,
and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote”
for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor’s Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it
unlocked our car over a cell phone!”
THIRD
Subject: Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press
the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve
and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery.
This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell
next time. (I have entered the access # in cell phone
directory.)
FOURTH
How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone’s serial number, key in the
following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number
is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it
somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can
phone your service provider and give them this code.
They will then be able to block your handset so even
if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be
totally useless.
You probably won’t get your phone back, but at least
you know that whoever stole it can’t use/sell it either.
If everybody does this, there would be no point in people
stealing mobile phones.
And Finally….(I have made note of my phone’s serial
number. _
FIFTH
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or
more for 411 information calls when they don’t have to.
Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our
vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a
problem. When you need to use
the 411 information option,
simply dial: (800) FREE 411, or (800) 373-3411 without
incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell
phone now. (I have entered this # in my cell phone
directory.)
This is the kind of information people don’t
mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.
Hmm, I couldn’t get the fourth one to work.
What do I do if I’ve locked my cell phone inside with my keys? Maybe just after the door locks, the remote would make a sound like Homer going “DOH”!! :rofl2:
That’s the sound I would make. And then I would follow up with, “FUCK!” :rant1:
This is in today’s WaPost (mostly, it’s a story about Bill Maher).
Rotating? Rotate all you want, as long as Maron is a permanent host.
Bit nippy this morning, but it looks like we missed the record low of -6. It only got to -4. Three below at the moment.
OMG! :omg: PJ, that’s booger freezing cold! :cold:
What’s cool is, when you exhale, your breath has moisture in it. So, when your breath hits your mustache (or mine, anyway), it freezes. After a short time, you get this big white Hitler ice mustache built up. And your nose hairs freeze, too. But if it’s not windy, it’s better than, say, yesterday, when it was 15, but this wind was a constant 20 mph or so.
:rant1: The wind can be so frustrating :rant1:
Well, no Bill Press … Sniff… I have to at the least get Thom, PWREESE ❗ 🙄

Oh Pj … BRRRR :cold: I am no longer in the SNOW mountains unknown if SAD or happy ❓
But my fingers and toes say, ” :yippee: wolf :pup: “.

At this time of year, the cold is no big deal, since it doesn’t last long. It’s been a mostly mild winter, though we’ve got a pretty fair amount of snow on the ground, after a slow start (up to a bit over 121″ for the season). Used to be, we’d have at least a week or two in January or February where it wouldn’t get above zero. Kinda how Minnesota is all winter long.
Ah CRAP! Fat Head Schultz is back on the air in Phoenix. :rant1: What an ASS!
I guess Goyette helped get him on KFNX. He associates himself with Fat Ed, I guess for business purposes, but Goyette is so much more intelligent than shultz, I would be disappointed if they were good friends.
Potential Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich admitted in an interview with conservative Christian group Focus on the Family that he had an extramarital affair even while leading the charge to have President Clinton impeached.
“The honest answer is yes,” he said according to the Associated Press. “There are times that I have fallen short of my own standards. There’s certainly times when I’ve fallen short of God’s standards.”
“Gingrich argued in the interview, however, that he should not be viewed as a hypocrite for pursuing Clinton’s infidelity,” writes the AP.

Apparently lying and fornicating are terrible crimes when committed by Democrats. Republicans only disappoint god.
A Democratic presidential debate scheduled for the late summer has attracted a lot of unusually early attention, since it is sponsored by a cable news channel that a vast majority of Democrats see as unfriendly to the party.
One major presidential candidate has already dropped out, as liberal bloggers have been hammering at the sponsorship by Fox News Channel. This afternoon, the webcaster invited by the Nevada Democratic Party also dropped out of what it called an “egregiously unfair and unbalanced” debate.

Morning, all. Druid, how are you doing this morning? Kristapea, thanks for the cell phone info.
I think the House Dems are doing much better. Waxman’s got Plame testifying next Friday. That’s very smart and a good way to refocus the discussion which Fox Noise is trying to make abouut whether Libby is a nice guy.
The pull-out of Iraq is attached to the Iraq money legislation. Vetoing it has its perils for the Repugs. It sets up a better balanced fight than we’ve been treated to un the past.

Druid- how’re you doin’? Is there going to be a service? :om:
You’d actually have to hold your arms above your head for a little while to get your pit hair to freeze, I think.

Kristapea, AND THANK YOU for that “hip” NOVA M Station
Cool 8) …when all else fails your Arizona station comes through
a.i.v.
I’ve only been to one whoop-ti-do Catholic Death Mass- quite a production. But I’ve also been to too many funerals when there was just dour scripture read with little ceremony. I just went to one last month for a guy I used to work with who played music. He had a large collection of beautiful bass guitars and that’s what they had on display- really captured his spirit.
From Paul Krugman:
“The bigger scandal, however, almost surely involves prosecutors still in office,” Krugman writes. “The Gonzales Eight were fired because they would not go along with the Bush administration’s politicization of justice. But statistical evidence suggests that many other prosecutors decided to protect their jobs or further their careers by doing what the administration wanted them to do: harass Democrats while turning a blind eye to Republican malfeasance.”

This is a clip of Giuliani reiterating his liberal views. But, don’t be fooled. He is an SOB, more authoritarian than Bush

Hi quietgirl! Randi was talking about this today, but I wasn’t sure if it was actually true or if she was embellishing for comedic effect. Thanks for the link.
:cake: happy birthday quietgirl!!!!!
So, AAR stream down yet again?
whats a stream?
The flow of data (in this, case, audio) from a content producer (or source) to a receiver (in this case, me; or, rather, not me, since it crapped out on me).
Hey, just noticed if you switch the c and the s, source becomes course. Who ever said dyslexia wasn’t useful?
Awwwww Randi :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: book on the side then it reads … :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: SCREWED by Thom Hartmann

The energy source of the future may lie beneath the ocean floor and under Arctic permafrost, scientists say.
Both places are sources of gas hydrates, strange icelike substances that trap methane—the primary component of natural gas.

Roger Ailes was whining about how unfair this would be, this morning.
Evening All. It’s interesting I’ve had generally no trouble streaming from home (Cavalier), I got to work today and could not stream at all (Verizon). But just 15 minutes earlier I had been streaming at home no problem.
I was going along fine all day today. Had the fm transmitter hooked up so I could listen while I brewed. Then, about 30 minutes into Randi, it crapped out and I got the “this stream is not available” from the WM link (both at AAR and direct), and “please tune back during broadcast hours” on the RM link. Haven’t been able to get the icecast link in a long time (even tried through iTunes – icky – to see if it changed, which it did, but it didn’t work anyway).
I’m sure if if I think about this long enough I’ll find a conspiracy in there somewhere.
Interesting YouTube on the origination of the Star Trek theme.
Nice photos of Bush’s visit to Latin America at Pravda. This one’s my favorite, for some reason:
Holy shit. Eddie Van Halen has not aged very well.
Aw.
Wow, I just saw a blast from the past on the local PBS station. A documentary about all the local childrens’ show that used to be on here in Philly. Talk about nostalgia.
