Be afraid, America. Be very afraid. The Killer Cantaloupes are out there – and they’re looking for you. These serial killers have left 13 (or 16 – depends on which story you look at) dead in their wake. And there’s nothing you can do to save yourself. Well, except not eat cantaloupe. But who can resist the sultry, seductive siren song of a nice firm melon? I can, actually. But few have my strength.
Now, if listeria ever shows up in beer, I’ll be truly disappointed. Even though I don’t drink as much as I used to, beer has become my reward for making it through the week. Fortunately, from my home brew research, I know that no known pathogen can live in beer.
Beer. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.
Tough economic times are proving to be profitable for American country music songwriters (according to the BBC, anyway). I think it’s time for an album from The Notting Hillbillies. Or the Muswell Hillbillies.
Great American Toby Keith says, “I don’t write for Donald Trump.”
No. He just hangs out with him.
Personally, I’ve never been much for the sappy stylings of “pop” country music. Give me the death, sorrow, and suffering of Bluegrass. When Toby Keith writes a song about drowning his sister and somebody making fiddle pegs from her long finger bones, let me know.
The kind of rap video that truly fits the candidate
“But who can resist the sultry, seductive siren song of a nice firm melon?”
You’re not going to get me to bite- especially if it’s cantalope.
But even here in Rocky Ford country there has been little to no publicity about what to do to avoid it.
This AP article explains everything pretty well. Just don’t let gramma lick the outside and make sure she’s got a clean knife.

vernon- Thanks for the tip about Rodger Waters on Fallon.
My favorite antecdote;
The very first keyboard player was forty years older than the rest of them but he owned a Farfisa organ and a VW van. He evidently helped them become who they would become because of his interest in light shows……,
never count the old guys out.
SueP — #1 — :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
but ewwww :yuck: :yuck: :yuck: — that is so LAME (as we used to say in the Olden Daze!).
What are those little Bimbettes thinking? They just ain’t the right color or spirit to try to get away with rap.
But you are correct. It certainly does fit the candidate. Bizarre. :satan:
So, did anyone else get the following email from Michelle Obama?:
Granny,
Not everyone knows how to prepare for a dinner like this. As someone who’s eaten countless meals with my husband, I want to tell you the one thing to do if you’re selected to join him…
Just relax. Barack wants this dinner to be fun, and he really loves getting to know supporters like you.
I hope you’ll take him up on it before Friday’s deadline.
Will you donate $3 or more today and be entered to have dinner with Barack?
These dinners mean a lot to Barack. They’re a chance for him to talk with a few of the people who are driving the campaign — and a chance for him to say thank you.
So come prepared to tell your story, and say whatever’s on your mind.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be there. Donate $3 today, before the September 30th deadline:

Thanks,
Michelle
===========================================
$3 for a lottery ticket is steep and who the hell wants to eat dinner with a corporate shill who wears a populist coat? Sent an email back to Michelle gracefully declining the offer because Barack is a liar and can’t be trusted and I don’t want to have dinner with him, so THERE!
Will be seeing them (most likely NOT) in DC next week. Should be interesting and I hope the folks on Wall Street :fist: keep up the Occupation so we can be occupying both Wall Street AND Freedom Plaza/DC :fist: :fist: !! Let’s see how long it takes MSM to give the DC action any coverage.
We certainly are living in interesting times. 😮
:fist:
Occupy Wall Street is beginning to get some attention here, in the City. I heard Susan Sarandon and Cornell West joined the crowd. The pepper spraying of those young women has helped to make it a story, too.
As for Obama, I didn’t read the email though I will support him because having a Republican Prez, Republican House and possibly a Republican Senate means more jerks on the Supreme Court than there already are. Things are bad but the Republicans can truly make it much worse.
From the pen of former Rethug Congressman Tom Tancredo:
What is not yet as widely known about Perry is that he extends his taxpayer-funded compassion not only to illegal aliens but also to Muslim groups seeking to whitewash the violent history of that religion. Perry endorsed and facilitated the adoption in Texas public schools of a pro-Muslim curriculum unit developed by Muslim clerics in Pakistan.
Perry’s connections to Muslim groups in Texas are well documented. A recent Christian Science Monitor story said, “Perry has attended a number of Ismaili events in Texas, brokered a few agreements between the state and Ismailis (including the legislation introducing Islamic curricula into Texas schools), and even laid the first brick at the groundbreaking ceremony for an Ismaili worship center in Plano in 2005.â€

from Sue P’s link-
“Perry has attended a number of Ismaili events in Texas,”
Wouldn’t the plural of Islamic be Islamic’s?
I know Tancredo didn’t write that but
he is an idiot.
I think the Republicans are having a who’s the craziest content, but it is possible that, side by side, they are running a biggest idiot contest too. They confuse me but they also scare me to death.
