A fairly easy to watch Bill Maher last night. The only idiot on was Michael Steele, and he didn’t even act like an idiot. Dare I say, he was even making sense? Otherwise, yesterday kinda sucked. And now the weekend’s all but over. We got a fair amount of snow last night, so now I’m trying to decide if I should plow, or just let tomorrow’s predicted 60 degree weather take care of it. I’m kind of leaning toward the latter. Somewhere along the way, I seem to have picked up a cold or a sinus infection or something (perhaps that what my little “episodes” came from in the first place), and sitting out on the tractor doesn’t sound like a good idea. I should do some other stuff, though. One less hour to get things accomplished tomorrow. At least I won’t have to waste any time watching basketball.
Thanks for the Maher heads up. Steele has become a little more affable than I remember but his constant use of the memo talking points and less than insightful regurgitation of the obvious are less offensive that just useless wastes of time. I have the DL already and will use it to spell some heavy garage cleaning/organizing today.
I’ll tiptoe past the obvious and just say it’s good to get these things out of your system when there is still another chance.
Meanwhile, I think your new diagnosis holds with my suggestions. It is possible that your eustachian tubes could be clogged which would create pressure. I suggest either a deep hot water gargle or maybe a neti pot (distilled water, please) to help clear or relax.
I can’t gargle. Tried it once, wound up waterboarding myself (confessed to the Lindbergh kidnapping). Not big on sticking things up my nose (not since I was a kid with the plastic army men, anyway). I’m kind of a baby that way. Actually, in most ways, now that I think of it.
Actually, that’s good gargling for this. Water coming through those and gagging, head tilted way back, hot as you can handle. Over the sink with a handy towel. It doesn’t have to be pretty.
I actually learned that gargling remedy from a doctor accustomed to patients sticking things up their nose. I’m prone to ear/nose problems and it has always served me well.
I watched Bill Mahar last night, too. I thought Steele’s reaction to “the South will rise again” pretty interesting. He said, “What the hell does that mean?” and I thought he sounded as if he was really disgusted with his Republican base. Of course I’m always disgusted with them so I’m probably projecting.
🙁 :gate:
