So, we did wind up watching “Game Change” yesterday, and I thought it was pretty good. Rather amazing that Sarah Palin could have become VP. Fortunately, she’s pretty lazy. I thought they portrayed her in a pretty sympathetic light, all things considered (and by that, I mean considering she a lazy nutjob). They were pretty kind to McCain, too, more or less giving him a pass.
Having made our way through the first three seasons of “Breaking Bad,” we started in on “Mad Men” last night. Seems OK so far. I’ll reserve judgement, except to say that now I understand where that godawful “Pan Am” came from. I assume it was an attempt to capitalize on the whole 1960’ish thing.
Yesterday was amazing. 66 degrees, and sunny. Makes going back to work today that much more difficult.
Alright, I never saw Pan Am after suggesting that it might be of interest. You scared me off that one. I have two seasons of Mad Men sitting here but still haven’t started watching it.
re McCain and Palin-it’s interesting to see how strenuously they have been criticizing and objecting to a movie they both swear that they will never watch with their usual boilerplate against the M/LSM and the fact that it used unattributed sources. And yet, I am sure that McNuts and McNuttierette don’t question for a second the likes of Breitbart and Rush and the rest of their ilk. I didn’t read the book because I really don’t care for either of those dudes who wrote it but I don’t question its accuracy. I can do that even though I haven’t read it, can’t I? The film maker dug in with his own additional research and interviews of campaign staffers. I think they both got a pretty sympathetic treatment in the movie.
Speaking of short-lived series, Sarah Paulson who played Nicole Wallace on Game Change played a leading role in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip which I really enjoyed.
Yes, I thought that was a really good show, too. And I liked her in it. I was disappointed when they killed it.
She’ll be a good Ann Romney if, Dog don’t help us, they want to make that movie.

A Day In The Life: Marc Maron
Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner (D) isn’t happy with bills that seek to control women’s access to contraception and abortion. She has joined a trend across the nation by introducing a bill that would require men seeking a prescription for erectile dysfunction drugs to see a sex therapist, receive a cardiac stress test and “get a notarized affidavit signed by a sexual partner affirming impotency.” Sex therapists would be required to present the option of “celibacy as a viable lifestyle choice.â€
