Finally, it’s Friday. Good news for most of us, with what in America passes for a “long” weekend (I think three days is barely adequate; four days might qualify as long, and two days are just plain way too short). Not so good news for my wife, who told me last night that she has to work tomorrow. That makes six days this week (quite a few shifts for a part time job, no?). Too bad, ‘cuz she has a lot of work to do this weekend.
I’ve got an awful lot of things I need to do this weekend, too. Not sure how much my foot will allow, though. It was hurting like hell by the end of the day, yesterday. I think it has something to do with wearing shoes, so I’m sitting here at my desk with one shoe and sock off. Maybe that’ll help. Hopefully there aren’t any critters under there.
Oh well, time to get back to getting this week over with.
Both Mike and I are retired but we still seem to stick to the weekday/weekend arrangement of time. In Brooklyn, of course, we have to move our cars to opposite sides of the street on Mondays and Fridays so that dictates when we can leave and for how long.
This Memorial Day weekend has begun with another downpour.
I felt so bad that my wife has to work tomorrow that I couldn’t make it through the day, and was forced to come home at noon.
I’m considering doing something productive, but it’s not looking like it’s gonna happen. Hot and humid out there. Maybe some t-storms later on.
Hot in okie land this weekend. Lots to do around here this weekend….. :hot:
At Xmas time Mike and I wanted to meet a fossil collector in East Bridgewater Conn. but couldn’t make it so we went today. We had a great time and got a really nice dino print from Massachusetts. How could a dinosaur foot print be anything but nice?)
The collector turns out to have been a Brooklyn native who attended Lafayette High School, as did I. However, though he was well versed in the stories of evolution he was none the less a Rethug with nasty anti Obama and anti Democrat signs on his lawn and car. Though we said not one political word, when we left he said he had decided against giving us one of his signs ’cause he knew we were Dems. I’m glad it shows!
