Happy Memorial Day. I hope everyone’s having a nice weekend, and is going around remembering all the people (and critters) that you’ve known and lost. Despite them saying there’s a chance of rain, it’s been dry and very sunny (and warm) around here (though it’s a little cloudy at the moment). And today it’s supposed to get into the 90s. I haven’t been accomplishing much, but I have gotten a lot of pool time in. The thought of going to work tomorrow is pretty depressing, so I won’t think about it. Enjoy what’s left of the day.
It’s HOT! I guess it’s a break from rain. Cool and breezy would be my preference. Have a nice Memorial Day and don’t eat anything at a barbecue that will give you a stomach ache.
🙁 :gate: :peace:
Memorial Day!
You may have heard that Doc Watson is in critical condition after having colon surgery. Doc is one of my all time favorites, and a national treasure. He is irreplaceable.
Lest you thought Andy Griffith had no game…
I’m sorry if I slacked on the Doc beat but I just want to believe he’ll be OK. I did post a few updates on the FB and also this vid with his sorely missed son Merle who we lost years ago in one of the dangest freak accidents.
Hang in there, Arthel!
Originally Memorial Day was more of a remembrance of those who died serving the country. It has become an all encompassing day for all things military service as has Veterans’ Day. Thinking about the whole ‘death in the service’ idea I was wondering also about those who returned to end their lives here and those who are the walking dead. I heard some military asswhole brass sneering about the soldiers who couldn’t handle their mental wounds. :fu:
