When I saw that John Fund was gonna be on Bill Maher last night, I knew I’d be annoyed, teamed up with that Boris guy (who looked like he should be part of Tony Soprano’s “waste management” crew), it made for one of (if not the worst Realtime shows I can remember. Not even Matt Taibbi could save it, because the panel (including some MSNBC person named Goldie, who also sucked) was just abysmal. Tale about a couple of guys being inside the rightwing bubble. Oy. It was worse than having Dana Rohrfucker and my other brother Darryl Issa on together would be. Close call there, though.
I don’t know why he insists on having these assholes on. Conservatives, fine. Get one with a brain who’s willing to speak rationally and I’m OK with that, even if I disagree. He’s had some on from time to time, and they don’t make me squirm in my chair and want to scream. But I suppose finding an intelligent and rational Republican is like finding a needle in a haystack these days.
So just go with Bernie Sanders, Cornell West, Rachel Maddow, Matt Taibbi, and people like that.
Oh well, it’s a little cool this morning, but the sin is shining, the sky is blue, the leaves are red and orange and gold, and SU actually won a football game, so all is right with the world. Except my back is killing me, but, hey, you can’t have everything, right?
Only a few trees have begun to show their beautiful fall colors. The rest are still green and leafy. They are late this year.
Ditto “worst Realtime show” ever.
Maher didn’t even try to keep any control of all the shouting and talking over. Plus even though I’m not a stand-up for Obama guy, do we really need any weak comedic bits implying that Obama snorts cocaine?
Even the “comedy” sucked last night :barf:
Just mediocre lazy teevee
I was just getting ready to view. Maybe I should forget it. I saw a portion earlier. Fund should just be banned from any reasonable discussion.
“Boris” the guy next to Fund was even worse. What an obnoxious douchebag.
Yeah, he was a real piece of shit.
We knew this was coming but it still hurts me a lot. My very first electoral exercise in futility and probably my best.
GEORGE MCGOVERN | 1922-2012
Dashed Presidential Hopes, but a Life Devoted to Liberalism
By DAVID E. ROSENBAUM
George McGovern, the United States senator who won the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 1972 as an opponent of the war in Vietnam and a champion of liberal causes, and who was then trounced by President Richard M. Nixon in the general election, died early Sunday in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was 90.
