No matter what color your Santa is, or whether you’re celebrating the birth of baby Jesus, having a pleasant day with friends and/or family, being guilted into visiting the in-laws, or are just happy to have a day off (assuming you don’t work at a hospital or a movie theatre or a 7/11 or something), I hope your day is merry. Around here, the moon isn’t full but it’s very bright, illuminating all the snow on the ground and in the trees (so I guess Santa left Rudolph in the barn last night). It’s also a balmy three degrees (above) out there. It’s quite Norman Rockwell looking.
Oops, spoke too soon. Either clouds just moved in or somebody turned off the moon. The plows appear to be out, so I guess we got some more snow last night (or they’re just salting the hell out of the roads – not that the salt does much when it’s this cold).
Anyhow, whatever it is you’re up to (or not) today, have a good one.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas, white or otherwise (that goes for Santa too).
There is no snow here, as it was all washed away by the rain.
Lola, whose 5th birthday it is today, had an early doggie Christmas yesterday. Mike woke up first, fed her and the cats and went back to bed. I woke up next and fed her again, even though I had to pick up the bakery bag that once contained some blueberry muffins now residing in Lola’s belly. Then when I went to feed the cats, I noticed that they had already been fed and forgot to close the gate so they could eat in peace. But, Lola, always alert for those errors, quickly finished the cats breakfast.
It was a perfect morning for a dog.

We had no familial obligations this year and don’t need anything from each other so it’s been nice and relaxed.
Went to a “blue” jazz xmas service at a local church last night for the second year in a row. Very simple and heart-felt service listening to people address their real feelings, some about losing loved ones to age and others all their worldly possessions’ to the floods including the pastor. Musical interludes of Coltrane, Miles and J.J. Johnson provided a healing atmosphere.
Merry :santacool: to all :jesus: :pup:
Glad Lola has a full tummy today. :pup:
Santa was good to all here this year. Had a lovely peaceful day. Well, until Mr. FK tried to make a rolled stuffed turkey breast concoction I came up with. He started yelling at the bird like the father yelling at his furnace in A Christmas Story. The not so teenager wanted something not so pedestrian as a turkey or prime rib; hence, my idea. Guess you need twine to truss up the thing. Who knew? Vegetarianism is so much easier.
Wishing all of you a merry season. :santacool: (<~ doesn't look so white to me)
