“Hillaroid” is pretty good. I came up with “Hilldo” last night, but Hillaroid is better. Less sexual, more scatological.
7 PM EDT tonight on ESPN. Akron vs. Kent State for all the MAC marbles. Which granted is not many marbles, but it gets them to the big show if they win.

Well, plagiarism isn’t generally a crime. At best, the owner of the original material can sue for copyright infringement or fraud if prior creation can be proven. And plagiarism is normally defined as taking writings or ideas from somebody and selling and/or publishing them as your own. None of that applies in this case (the person he is alleged to have ‘stolen’ from says it’s OK by him, for one thing, and, really, there isn’t even much of – if any – an original idea in the ‘original’).
I think it’s a tough thing to try and demonize Obama on.

Frankly, my biggest problem with Obama is that he’s too much of a Republican. But Clinton is about the same, and, really is campaigning as a Republican. I lost all respect for her when she basically said only she and John McCain were qualified to be president. You just don’t throw your fellow party member under the bus like that. Not in favor of a Republican – and certainly not in favor of McCain, who would be a horrible, horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE person to have as president. Far worse, IMHO, than the idiot we have now. The idiot we have now just listens to the war mongerers. McCain is one.
I really hate to disagree with you on this, Druid, because I respect your opinion and I know how passionate you are about this, but I’ve really had it with Clinton. I’m not sold on Obama, and I would have much preferred Edwards or Kucinich, or Dodd or Richardson (even Biden), but they’re all out.

NC Blue, I went to UVa for a year in 1972-1973 (cavalier, get it) and I know about ACC basketball. When I transferred there I wasn’t even into sports. Too righty for me but by the time November rolled around I was at U-Hall every night playing hoops and was standing in line for the free student tickets for the games. I am not sure who was playing for anyone anymore except Barry Parkhill was our star and I remember Tommy Burleson and Monty Towe at NC State.

I voted for Clinton. I believe she has been poorly portrayed in the media and I think she has behaved poorly in an effort to beat Obama. I’m certain she has lied about her accomplishments because they ALL lie about their accomplishments.
Obama has behaved better toward her since he snubbed her at the SOTU speech. But, I think he is arrogant. He started running for president before he got settle into the senate. I fear his inexperience, coupled with an outsized ego, will not be a good thing.
I really fear that Obama will be the most disappointing because he has been endowed with so much by so many with so little evidence.
So, as usual, there are 2 choices, neither of which is my best choice. However, the third choice, McCain, is a disaster.
However, in the spirit of honesty, I have to admit that when I have seen MY candidate elected, for the most part that candidate has been very disappointing.

An Army judge at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has ordered the Pentagon to do more to help lawyers for Canadian detainee Omar Khadr build a defense case and delayed his trial on charges of killing a U.S. soldier during a firefight in Afghanistan in July 2002 — when he was 15 years old.
Army Col. Peter Brownback ordered prosecutors on Friday to give Khadr’s lawyers the names of all American personnel who had interrogated Khadr after his capture as well as access to their handwritten notes, made both in Afghanistan and at the prison camp here.
Khadr, now 21, was to have gone on trial before a military commission on May 5. His lawyers argue that he should have been treated as a child forced to fight, not as a terrorist. On Thursday, Khadr’s Navy defense attorney, Lt. Cmdr. William Kuebler, accused a military commander of doctoring a battlefield report to cast blame on his client, noting that the first account of the battle, written by an on-scene officer identified only as ”Lt. I also hope I am not so starry eyed that I cannot see my way to support someone who is behaving despicably and inexcusably in her blind and furious ambition if she ends up facing a maniac in November. I’ll do it but I am sure I will be throwing up a little after her recent performance.
I am already discouraged and that’s just the way HRC and the repuglies want it. Voter suppression.

It’s a horrible situation we’re in, when we’re told that optimism and hope are naive, that lies are experience, and that fear is strength. Fuck McCain, fuck Bush, and I’m trying hard not to say fuck Hillary, but she and her campaign minions aren’t helping me.
Keep in mind that a McCain presidency fucks up the Supreme Court for the next 30 years at least. I don’t plan to be dead by then. Let’s help each other have a nice life. Or something.
