Odds are, I’m expected to do a lot of shit tomorrow (though nobody ever tells me anything ahead of time. I’m just expected to intuit these things, I guess), so I need to get all my other weekend shit done today, I guess. Problem is, I’m not generally happy and peppy and bursting with love on Saturdays. Oh well. Better go see about getting up and around. There are doggies counting on me, after all.
A gray, gloomy morning, today. The dogs are going to the groomer this morning. They need hair cuts as much as I do.

Well, at least I won’t have to worry about getting time off work and a flight to Syracuse.
UMass 68
Akron 63
The Zips were up by 12 early in the second half after overcoming a slow start. Then UMass started a full-court press and kept Akron’s Jeremiah Wood from getting the ball in the lane, where he had been doing a lot of damage. UMass outscored Akron 27-5 at the end of the game.
Oh well. It’s also pouring down rain. Must be Mother Nature crying because her favorite college hoops team lost.
PJ, good luck to the Orange Tuesday night. Looks like they’ll have their hands full.
Aw, sorry to hear the Zips lost. Hopefully they can play SU in next year’s NCAAs.
Damn. I was looking forward to that one.
Not too confident about WVU right now.
Almost four months before Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in a sex scandal, a lawyer for Republican political operative Roger Stone sent a letter to the FBI alleging that Spitzer ”used the services of high-priced call girls” while in Florida.
The letter, dated Nov. 19, said Miami Beach resident Stone learned the information from ”a social contact in an adult-themed club.” It offered one potentially identifying detail: The man in question hadn’t taken off his calf-length black socks “during the sex act.”
Stone, known for shutting down the 2000 presidential election recount effort in Miami-Dade County, is a longtime Spitzer nemesis whose political experience ranges from the Nixon White House to Al Sharpton’s presidential campaign. His lawyer wrote the letter containing the call-girl allegations after FBI agents had asked to speak to Stone, though he says the FBI did not specify why he was contacted.

For shame. One should always remove one’s socks while having sex. Just ask Dick Morris.
:rofl2:
It sure sounds like a Rethug set-up, using a federal agency (FBI) to bring down a Dem governor.
It’s still winter in amerika

Shazzam! Who’da thunk it?
It may be clucked up but as Malcolm and Jeremiah might say, the chickens are coming home to roost.
Of course in a few years we will have a big crisis when this corn “boom’ crashes and it becomes bailout time for agribusiness.
Of the things the SBR still exports food stuffs are a big thing.. We used to have so much land and water that :sheep: le were neither living on or drinking that we raised about 4X the amount of food we consumed. That is one reason why we have so many Hispanic immigrants we used to export grain so cheaply they can’t afford to grow it in Mexico.so the subsistence farmers all came here . Now C6H12OH is consuming all the corn in sight.
Next summer we will be having to import ( remember the $$$ is becoming worthless) most of the wheat and soybeans we use because all the crop land will be growing corn.
What the hell do we care if a few million people starve to death as long as we can drive that two ton SUV..IDIOT MORONS :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason:
The price of meat , eggs, cheese, milk , bread and many other foods containing refined corn syrup as a sweetener will be going up and up and up and up some more.
Capitalism and the “market” in action just so some fat rethug smoking a cigar can drive his Escalade at 90+ mph across KansASS.. :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :reaper: :reaper:
I am sure that the Spitzer thing although true was exposed by the thugs to get rid of the guy.. You have to be squeaky clean and possibly bullet proof to counter their “family” ( sound like anything from previous history,,… think prohibition ) :reaper: :reaper:
Amerikans of course preoccupy themselves with basketball in high definition while things just get worse and worse and worse .. knowing that the next
electionselection will turn things aroundVigilance committees :sheep: le Vigilance committees :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason:
I noticed today at the Kroger that the price of soft drinks was going up .. What was $.99 is now a $1.20 .. including the soft drinks sweetened by artificial sweeteners ..which I doubt have much to do at all with agriculture. .. Capitalism in action letting the IDIOT MORON figure it out .. :reaper: :reaper:
The fact that ultra slimy Roger Stone initiated the investigation, an investigation of prostitution that would NEVER have been done had the target been a Rethug, is really disturbing and just one more time that the Dept of Justicce has been used to further the fortunes of the Reich. At least Spitzer actually was guilty, unlike the Alabama Gov.
Just in time for Easter, the oldest rabbit relation is bounding onto the scientific scene.
Tiny foot bones from a 53 million-year-old rabbit ancestor represent the oldest known record of hippity-hoppity mammals and their closest evolutionary relations, according to a new study.

yeah Sue our “system” of laws where the party in power can choose to enforce or not enforce , change and interpret at will works really well doesn’t it :reaper: :reaper: Amerikans of course would rather watch basketball ( or more often than not Amerikan idol ) in high definition than do anything about it .. :tap: :tap:
Fred, the US has a long history of spouting stuff about what a great, free, democratic country it is while imprisoning and/or killing the folks who disagree.
When Bush talks about freedom, he means laisez-faire capitalism. He has no interest in civil rights or political freedom.
The man is the new,Herbert Hoover, only dumber.
Yeah Orwell has been active in the SBR for quite some time .. this election will of course change everything .. :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
if only the American :sheep: le would understand why bright flashes and loud noises ( the only language a sociopath understands) are the only way to turn this thing around.. Instead they cower under their beds in a fetal position sucking their thumb and let things just get worse and worse and worse. :reaper: :reaper:
Actually, I think most people would rather bitch about everything than work to change things.
I think most people fit into one of two types:
Those who bitch about the way the deck chairs on the Titanic are arranged, and those who bitch about the people who bitch about the way the deck chairs on the Titanic are arranged

Well, people shouldn’t be eating crap with corn syrup in it anyways. Nasty shit, nutritionally useless. People need to start shopping locally as much as possible through this. That is what will strengthen the dollar, keep the money at home. Grass roots.
Corn syrup. Makes you fat, and leaves you hungry – for more shit made with corn syrup. A perfect scam, made only more perfect by feeding the medical/pharmaceutical industrial complex with more sick and overweight people.
Gotta love it.
Oh, as far as my high definition TV watching, tonight I’m watching a three-part BBC produced series on the Discovery Channel about the birth, life, and death of Jesus of Nazareth. Well done, fascinating, informative, and, yes, in Hi-Def.
Sorry if I’m not highly evolved, but I’m just a simple guy, with a simple mind. I only try to live up to my own standards, which are, of necessity, quite low.
BTW, Travis, if you’re out there somewhere, congrats on getting through your exam. Didn’t get a chance to wish you luck or say congrats, but let me just say, “well done!” That stuff’s a pain, and you’re doing a great job with everything. Now, I hope you can take a couple weeks off and relax before it starts all over again.
Thanks PJ. I just have nine days left of off time then it’s back to crunching numbers. Trying to get my math requirements out of the way first before I attempt more chem.. :barf:
I’ve been way into the farmers market and find I eat healthier for cheaper. And, I eat less meat. I’ve been baking my own bread and wasting less of it, actually, none of it because what I don’t use I dry out and grind into bread crumbs. I haven’t been able to afford spending money on anything other than food and gas for a couple of months now and I think it’s going to get harder. As one of the poor people down in the bottom of the SBR Titanic, the water is up to my hips and the rich people in the ballroom have felt the first “lurch” of the ship. They are only beginning to understand the predicament they are in. :smack:
Good luck! People don’t realize how hard the school stuff is. Working is a snap compared to going to school. Though there are usually more chances to meet cute babes at school (not that I ever noticed, of course).

I am also starting to feed my dog more table scraps to save on dog food. That’s what they lived on for thousands of years as domesticated animals. They don’t need scientifically formulated specialty food, they are omnivores like us. :pup:
Hmm, I used going back to school as an excuse to get out of looking for a job. I really don’t know which is worse at this point. I don’t think I could convince myself to go back to school and yet, I am having a hard time convincing myself to look for a job right now.

Too late.
I found this really cool psychadelic station on itunes and this band called “We The People” is playing now. :fist:
We are facing an economic shit storm, trust me, I’m in Az, one of 4 states already in recession. As the SBR Titanic is sinking, it’s also being plundered by neocon pirates. Money is flowing out of this country like the levy breaches in New Orleans. :pirate: :sheep: Can you say, “walk the plank?”

Did the series have any perspective on the possible divinity or non-divinity of this supposed person, if he actually existed? Because I have some questions.
Like if he actually is god, or the son of god, or an in-law or something, why is everything turning to shit on this planet? As much as I would like to blame the chimp-like figure who claims to be this guy’s representative, at some point you gotta point a finger back to the home office.
Or is he just another idiot with a messiah complex? Just what we need this year, another Ralph Nader. :tap:
But you gotta like a guy who can feed the multitudes with five loaves of bread and two fishes. Martha Stewart would be proud.
Happy Easter, everybody!
:rofl2:
First, it seems pretty clear that Jesus actually existed. They took a look at the historical record as well as the Gospels, and clearly stated when there were conflicts, or just plain unsubstantiated claims. They were able to provide a great deal of evidence as to how the claims made in the gospels could be possible – either because they were interpreted in one way or another, or could be explained. I can’t do it justice, but it was really quite fascinating.
It may no judgments either way as to whether Jesus was the son of God or not, and just tried to look at the historical record.
Again, quite interesting. To me, anyway. But then, that’s just me.
Hmmmmm :pirate: :reaper: :dancers: A!I!V!
