It basically hasn’t stopped snowing around here for the past three or four days. Not a ton of snow by our standards (I don’t know what the official tally is, but I’d say we got something in the 18″ – 24″ area at my place), but enough to have me out on the tractor plowing twice a day for the past few days. Nothing more invigorating than starting off a 12° morning with a ride on the tractor. I really hope it stops, soon – and it looks like the impending Nor’easter is going to stay away from us, so that’s a good thing.
I get to go back to the doctor tomorrow morning. Nothing too icky, thankfully – they’re just gonna steal some of my blood and see if my BP is better (which it is; I’ve been taking it twice a day, and it’s somewhat amazing to see how easy it was to get it to normal). I’ve also knocked off the beer for a bit (mostly because I killed my most recent keg of homebrew – it takes an awful lot longer to brew 5 gallons than it does to drink it), and all work (and snow plowing) and no beer makes Jack a very dull boy indeed.
The doctor informed me that if you’re going to drink every day, you’re not supposed to drink more than 2 8-oz beers a day – which is of course ridiculous, since beer doesn’t even come in 8-oz containers. I mean, can you even buy “splits” anymore? I remember being able to get a case of O.V. splits (we called them “German grenades”) and dumping a bag of ice on top. And rather than inhibiting drinking, it actually induced you to drink more, ‘cuz the damn things went down in one swallow and never got warm.
Ah, those were the days.
Anyhow, I think I’ll go for one more night of enforced sobriety, and then spring for a few cold ones tomorrow night. Otherwise I’ll have to keep going to bed at seven.
If I had enough cash, I’d leave this country.
Every time I go grocery shopping, I get made fun of and called names. The employees call me “asshole-face” a “child molester” and say “You didn’t touch anyone.” They change the music when I shop to things I find annoying and awful, and they blurt-out weird things on the intercom system. Patrons seem to follow me into the store, and once inside they hold their noses as they walk by. Even as I leave the store, drivers go by holding their noses and occasionally laughing. This last time I went grocery shopping, I went to buy fuel and there was a vehicle — I’m assuming an undercover officer or agent of some kind — that followed me but did buy any fuel, and even pulled into the gas station on the wrong side of the fuel pump.
A few days ago, I was able to corner an asshole that held his nose at me as I drove by at a NOAA gate. I followed him there, but he was unable to go beyond the locked gate with a security guard. I’m not sure how big the network is with these people, how many of them are working together, or even if it’s some type of psychological operation to fuck with me. Even the media, like Colbert, his predecessor, the President, other political Presidential candidates and that asshole Chuck Todd, hold their noses as a seemingly sick joke and sign.
I can’t seem to get away from them, or shop for groceries without dealing with harassment. The police are full of shit, and are of no help at all. In fact, I think their spying on me, and making fun of me as well.
I know everything I view online is being tracked and possibly manually monitered, flashes and streaks are being used as signs on my machine and even on TV — it’s insane.
I’ve never wanted to kill people until this shit started happening to me. If I continually get made fun of and called crazy, there will be hell to pay.
We’re #1!
I pay income tax to the city and to the state, though they are never a lot and real estate taxes, in the city, are very low for residents though not commerrcial sites. So, as that’s an average, I suspect a mean might be illuminating. I also think that people outside the city pay much more real estate and school taxes. That’s certainly true on Long Island. The state sales tax should be the same for every place but the city and local sales taxes are added on.
I can tell you that I pay more than that average in property taxes alone (over 60% of it being school taxes). When you include state income tax, sales tax, gas tax…. It adds up to a pretty fair amount of money. That’s why I want to retire to Santa Fe, Panama.
Schools are not funded by real estate taxes in the city. And, there are all those rich people and corporations that pay lots.
NYC is very expensive. Rents are beyond ridiculous. So is everything else. But the taxes fall heavily on the wealthy…where they belong.
Cruz recently commiserated with small businesses supposedly driven out by the high taxes. Of course small and large businesses thrive in densely populated, wealthy NY. Cruz, like any good Rethug, doesn’t let facts get in his way.

A grim Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that Ministry of Defense (MoD) officials were “stunned” last week after a Turkish Air Force fighter jet operating within its own airspace fired upon and downed two CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters being flown by the US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) over Kurdish held territory in the eastern Syrian “department” of the Levant War Zone killing all 12 of the American military troops on board.
According to this report, on 14 January, these two MARSOC helicopters departed from Ayn al-Asad Airbase in Iraq for a “normal/routine” re-supply mission of US Marine and British Special Forces troopscurrently embedded with Kurdish Peoples Protection Unit (YPG) fighters battling Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/Daesh) terrorists near the Turkish border in north eastern Syria near the city of Raqqa when this “war crime” occurred.
Immediately upon Federation Aerospace Forces detecting this Turkish “unprovoked” attack upon these two MARSOC helicopters, this report continues, Russian commanders notified the Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar advising the American’s of their willingness to assist in search and rescues missions, but which the US commanders stated they did not need as their own TRAP forces (tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel) had already been alerted.
Most outlandishly, this report notes, is that within 5 hours of Turkey shooting down these two MARSOC helicopters in Syria, Aerospace Forces satellites monitoring the Pacific Ocean region detected what they believed at the time to be an unannounced test of a US Navy RIM-8 Talos missile in the waters surrounding the Hawaii Islands—but which within two hours of its firing and exploding the US Navy announced two of its CH-53 helicopters had “crashed”, and just yesterday announced they had ceased attempting to find either these aircraft or its crew members.
As to why the Obama regime would deliberately conceal from the American people this “deliberate war crime”, this report explains, is due to their fears of what the reactions of their citizens would be upon learning that these 12 brave US Marines were killed by their own NATO ally Turkey—who at the exact same time the US is fighting with and assisting the Kurdish peoples in fighting Islamic State terrorists, Turkey is doing everything it can to destroy them.
So bitter have relations deteriorated between the Obama regime and Turkey over America’s support for the Kurdish peoples, this report notes, Turkish officials even openly warned the American’s again yesterday that they won’t even tolerate the inclusion of Kurdish groups at the upcoming peace talks aimed at ending the war in Syria—with Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu bluntly telling the US: “We will never accept that YPG is being seen as a legitimate power on the opposition side. We will never allow this to happen because it is a direct threat to Turkey.”
Upon the Security Councils reviewing the MoD information relating to Turkey’s downing of these MARSOC helicopters, and its threat to further destabilize the Levant War Zone, this report concludes, it issued a warning a few hours ago stating that the activities by foreign Special Forces are now one of the main threats to Russia’s security.

My typing, to say nothing of my proof reading, is so bad that I managed to say the opposite of what I wanted to say. To wit: the Central park owl took a two week vacation and has now returned to his usual tree.
Not earth shattering news, but it means Lincoln Kareem, who loves the owl, will be posting more great photos of him/her.
I wonder what he’s been up to? Maybe he went to Atlantic City.
