Sunday already? Seems like it was just Saturday.
And its an “Ugly Sunday” on Press the Meat, as Timmy Potatohead hosts an hour worthy of a carnival freak show, with James “cupie doll” Carville and dickfor Bob Shrum for the Democrats, and Mrs. Cupie Dolln Mary Matalin with Mike “the schmuck” Murphy for the Republicans. Oh joy. Carville is at least fun to look at (in a can’t-take-your-eyes-off-the-car-wreck kinda way), but I really can’t stand his sneering, sighing, fucking whore of a wife (ha, go ahead and suspend me for that, AAR). Actually, they’re all a bunch of fucking whores in my opinion. But then, whores are what Sunday mornings on the teevee are all about, aren’t they (as Mike Malloy would say, no offense to sex workers).
Over on Faze the Nation, Bush buddy Bobby Schieffer has Sec Def Bob Gates (to tell us how well things continue to go in Iraq, I guess), and the Queen of Botox, Nancy Pelosi.
At Fux News Sunday, Weaselface Wallace hosts Obamite Tom Daschle, plus Andy’s pal and Clintonista, Mike “fluffer” Nutter. Then its National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley and Olympic gold medalist Joey Cheek, on to talk about boycotting the Olympics, and the Fux Power Player of the week (oddly enough, somebody who’s actually been in on a power play – and has something like 22 power play goals so far this season), Washington Capitals left wing, Alex Ovechkin. Plus the usual Fux News whores, of course (you know, they probably make even more an hour than the Emperor’s Club VIP gals, and, as far as I can tell, they really don’t do anything to earn it).
On the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus hosts Jimmy Carter, who’s over in Nepal, observing elections. Then Stephen Hadley gets trotted out again before a roundtable of Time Mag whore Mark Halperin, political genius Donna Brazile, former pentagon spokesbitch (and whore), Torie Clarke, and ABC’s resident Sunday whore, George :jerk: Will. For those of you with HD, here’s some big news: next week, This Weak goes Hi-Def. Won’t that be a thrill? Gee, I hope they have Cokie Roberts on (and Katrina vanden Heuvel, for Kevin).
Over on CNN’s Late Emission, Wolfie has Joe Biden and Dick Luger (I’m not sure if that sounds like a very scary weapon, or something I really don’t wanna see hawked up in the drinking fountain), plus the battle of the surrogates, Obama’s Bob Casey and Clinton’s Evan Bayh. Then, it’s the biggest fucking whore of the day, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman. Rounding out the show will be Iraqi Foreign Minster, Hoshar Zebari.
Later, on 60 Minutes, Steve Kroft reports that corruption in Iraq is so entrenched that militia groups known to target U.S. troops control some of Iraq’s ministries and have used those government funds and resources to kill Americans (hey, nothing’s perfect). Lesley Stahl tells us about leukemia patient John Kanzius, who invented a machine that kills cancer cells (I’m sure the drug companies will kill that faster than the auto companies killed the engine that runs on tap water). And Bob Simon tell us about Venezuela’s world famous (in other words, everywhere but the US) orchestra.
Even later, there’s episode 6 of John Adams on HBO (“Unnecessary War.” Some things never change, I guess), and a new episode of the Tudors on Showtime, followed by a new episode of Tracy Ullman’s State of the Union. So, you can put off thinking about going to work tomorrow until at least 10:30 (later if you record them and watch them one after the other, since Adams and Tudors are on at the same time). After that, though, reality sets in.
As for me, I really need to start thinking about doing my taxes.
Have a good one.
Stick with the print
Why is this on my PBS outlet in the dead of morning?

The funny thing about The Clash was that back in their time, I wasn’t so much of a fan but my respect continues to grow through the years. Not to mention with some degree of sadness that their message grows more timeless over 30 years later.
Too sad that Strummer passed so early. He was a pretty good guy who was just finding his stride again. 🙁 :gate:
:joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: 😮 :yuck: :crap: :paranoid: :paranoid:
:omg: Two :sheep: le
Up in the middle of the night on the left coast at that .  😯 😯
Obama gets in trouble for not phrasing things properly for the IDIOT MORONS
What he said made perfect sense to me .. I can’t decide who the MORONs are the voters or the Reich wing media :reaper: :reaper:
What he said is exactly what the Reich uses to promote their Orwellian spin and keep from discussing the issues.. I guess the ‘they” don’t want to wake up any half boiled frogs :tommygun: :tommygun:
Most of these rock groups from the last decade made the phrase “if you can’t play good then play loudly” very true :reaper: :reaper: .
Dirty Underwear used to be such good place for activists ( please note used to be) :yuck: :crap:
Now it seems to be a watering hole for IDIOT MORONS :reaper: :reaper:
I cannot believe everyone here and in the media treating Obama with ” 8) faux kid” gloves.
If Hillary said anywhere the same, it would be shouted on every media and NovaM & AAR… … as you all burn again my nation. :dancers:
Gore and Carter set to throw Hillary off the stern
Perhaps they see her as a babble bot too. :reaper: :reaper:
I listened to The Clash “back then” and moving a bit to town when I heard he died. I remember where I was. He/they did have something to say. I remember him, barely his name — but remember them and the times surrounding “him”. Gosh, I barely remembered Rush’s and Led’s members :rofl2: … :dancers: :tap: ..A!I!
Perhaps during Hillary’s tour of duty on the Hill she met the body snatchers in an alley someplace .. She too subscribes to the phrase “if you can’t make sense at least do it loudly” This campaign has shown her to be shrill :reaper: :reaper: and most often than not not very in touch with anything going on outside the beltway … :yuck: :crap: 😮
I’m so norml, so average American…..I am having COFFEE, not that very strange orange stuff. :joe: :joe:
Men, I (sadly) think it is you men thinking that. I have found Hill actually rather subdued. It is the Obama people complaining about everything she carefully does as Obama trips over his own mouth.
I do feel I am walking in the Twilight Zone.
DreamState: If Gore/Edwards doesn’t win :knit2: …. :fist: :knit: Gore/Edwards
FRED, I get in one of my”sites” or “page” or “whatever”…I get Scotsman ….. I was just “bitchy” about having a Masters Golfer on one side and “dis’n'” Hillary…and most important — using Carter and Gore (yes, 🙄 I know about Carter). But it does remind me TO WRITE (sooner than later) But it still is “overseas” attempt in manipulation of U.S. (us) — & just further superfluous BS…. … :fist: A!I!
Yeah, you goddamn men that hate Clinton for being a woman. You’re as bad as the racists that hate Obama. Not to mention you ageists that hate McCain.
Of course, the real winners no matter what are we issuists, who hate hearing about shit that actually matters. Thank goodness we’ve been able to stamp that out (with the help and hard work of our media, of course).
Alberto R. Gonzales, like many others recently unemployed, has discovered how difficult it can be to find a new job. Mr. Gonzales, the former attorney general, who was forced to resign last year, has been unable to interest law firms in adding his name to their roster, Washington lawyers and his associates said in recent interviews.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/13/washington/13gonzales.html?_r=1&th=&adxnnl=1&oref=slogin&emc=th&adxnnlx=1208089700-Uls2TfrSq2lpVTZEzicxxg
Poor, Alberto, just one more thing Bushco has turned to :crap:
Actually there are major “studies” that prove men overall do not like listening to (even different) women’s voices. And Obama’s people are into continuing separatism since they are “playing” the youths “feelings” and those that want to believe they are “young” and attempting to show Hillary as “the old garde” like Evil McCain …and the list continues…. Did ya even hear STILL on S Miller’s commercials having Sen Clinton speak and then the Evil CHENEY….. There has been studies regarding how the youth feels towards the aged or a bit older.
Re the Studies: This was something I was listening to and found interesting but I don’t have the figures and I don’t remember the percentages but upon returning from some errands I may do a bit of researching whilst working.
Nice bird pictures.
No wonder I voted for Clinton twice for Senator and in the NYS primary.
Oh wait. Damn, I guess that makes me a racist instead of a misogynist.
I thought the bitter white racist java swillin’ males were trending HillBilly? I thought I heard or saw that somewhere but I am just going to say it and you can take my word for it.
Bet they will all be hangin’ in there and voting Dem come election time if she is up agin mcnuts. You betcha!
Anyone see my shoe?
I read on Sam’s site, I think in some comments, that there were 46,000 people on the Sammy Cam, on Friday.
I have no idea what the usual number is.
“The U.S., once the greatest can-do country on the planet, now can’t seem to do anything right,” opines the New York Times’ Bob Herbert this morning.
The United States, Herbert says, is a country whose lopsided priorities have resulted in the squandering of resources, energy and manpower on the occupation of Iraq while the shrinking middle class sinks deeper into debt, infrastructure continues to collapse, the country is unable to provide health care for its population, and a post-Katrina New Orleans remains effectively underwater.

Nice, succinct summary of the state of the nation, don’t you think?
When, as a nation, we stopped drinking coffee and went to OJ, the decline of our great empire was assured.
This year the osprey who nest along the water on Shelter Island were slow to return, but they have finally made it back and are busy getting about the business of procreating. The three nests that I watched last year are all occupied and this morning I saw 6 seals sunning themselves on some rocks near the shore.
In the past several years the have been seal sightings in places where I have not heard of them before. Two years ago we had one in the Gowanus Canal in Red Hook. Unfortunately the Gowanus is one of the most polluted waterways in NY and the seal got sick and had to be taken to a marine center to recover before she was set free, again.
1. O’bama says that bitter people turn to gOD
2. McCoin and $Bill$ary say that Barack is an elitist by going after the poor churchgoers
3. Many churchgoers get praised by their overlords for being “THE CHOSEN ONES”
4. As soon as you accept being considered A CHOSEN ONE, aren’t you by definition considered an elitist, since you look down on the not chosen ones?
5. $100,000,000 + $100,000,000 enables a vast amount of projection regarding elitism
6. Since when is the son of a Goatherder considered an elitist?
Barack should select as his theme song “Rhinestone Goatherd”, to play up his image as a moneyed elistist.

Ospreys!
I heard a global warming denier yesterday on the radio claiming that DDT is a very safe pesticide. I remember seeing Ospreys at the lake when I was a kid but then they disappeared. They are back because we stopped using DDT.
Typical that the global warming deniers like Roy Spenser, who has expertise in climate science, should go after the DDT ban, because they are only doing what a Rethug would do — use the selective outrage to reveal their true agenda.
Has anybody heard this new AAR program called “The Charles Binder Show”? It’s on Saturday night. Strangest show because when I first heard it, I really felt soothed by the host’s voice who seemed like a seasoned pro at radio. But then I realized that after several episodes, that the host kept having the same “guest” on week after week. When I heard the host call the guest “Charles”, I finally realized that Charles Binder is the permanent guest and the host, who doesn’t announce himself, is Dick Summer.
The point of this is that Dick Summer is a legendary NY and Boston radio DJ and personality from the 60’s who inspired much of the creativity that we see in today’s radio. The namesake of the show, Charles Binder, who is a hugely successful plaintiff’s lawyer, can afford to pay a great voice-over guy like Summer, to feed him questions and make him look good. It helps his business.
Why doesn’t this guy, Dick Summer, have his own radio show?
http://www.dicksummer.net/podcast/95_LittleThingsMeanALot.mp3
The other point is that AAR is turning into a huge vanity project and infomercial breeding ground. I know it kind of started with Al Franken (and maybe Ring of Fire), and then continued with Jerry Springer, but now with Mark Green, Richard Greene, and all this other dreck, it is really going down the rat hole. Binder’s show is saved by Dick Summer. However, my prediction for the Randi replacement is Dionne Warwick’s Psychic Friends.
Anybody else have predictions?
Oh shit. Now I’m an elitist because I had orange juice for breakfast today. The fact that I prefer the taste of OJ to the taste of coffee has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Actually, I almost opened a can of pineapple juice rather than drinking OJ. Would that have made me even more of an elitist? Because I can walk down the street and pull a couple of oranges off someone’s tree (presuming I don’t get caught), but I would have to fly all the way to Hawaii to do that with a pineapple.
Of course, when John McCain was a prisoner of war, he didn’t get OJ or pineapple juice. So he deserves to become president and start three or four more wars.
This shit gets more ridiculous every day. I wonder how much time will be spent in Wednesday’s debate dealing with petty bullshit rather than talking about the issues. Since ABC is broadcasting it, my money’s on the bullshit.
But on the bright side, at least no one’s talking about Obama’s bowling anymore!
:rofl2:
NEVERMIND! It was part of a study I somewhat recently heard AGAIN… but it is not in the first 3 pages of “most important issues” I believe in Put Up or … I can’t put up… I give-ish… I will be looking further one day but that means going beyond page 3 — (I may do 5 pages (and beyond), perhaps, since I do get caught in “loops”……when I make tea……)… … :pent: :reaper: :dancers: A!I!
btw 22 was cute :rofl2:
I remember when the osprey disappeared from Shelter Island. Each year there would be fewer until one year there were none at all. As Shelter Island is both sheltered and an island it has many, many osprey nests. The town builds platforms with perches for the birds so that the birds don’t build their very large nests on telephone and electric wires. The year there were no osprey was depressing and horrible. Then, slowly, they began to return.
I’ve heard the DDT deniers. They are a jaw dropping group.
It was Chris Matthews (no comment needed) who started the OJ thing. At first they said it was bad manners to ask for OJ instead of coffee and then they said that middle America couldn’t relate to OJ drinkers. I guess OJ is only for coastal folks.
And, yes Kevin, your elitist creds would have been off the charts had you had pineapple juice, this morning. No true American could ever have related to you again.
If he was a regular ‘merican, he’d have at least asked for Sunny D.
WebHubbleTelescope, eek, I actually like The Charles Bender Show … I think a joke is working. And I listen to Ring.
Thank You for the History… :fist: A!I!
Oh I almost forgot, I say Kevin M, go pineapple or organic or passion fruit & OJ… go wild, be different, be eccentric … go pineapple  A!I!

I may have apple juice tomorrow morning. Don’t tell Tweety.
:rofl2:
He shoulda had a V-8 but that sounds too much like a gas guzzler. :knit:
WHT!
You remember Dick Summer? I had not heard that show.
His show on WBZ in the late 60’s was like a musical entry drug for me.
Vernon,
No, I had never heard of Dick Summer before, but I did some research because I was curious. He was apparently one of the first “progressive music” DJ’s. I found this reference to what he started:
Druid,
I do like the Charles Binder Show. Last night Summer and Binder were talking about Charles’ experiences defending hookers, and what Spitzer has gotten himself into. It is really a relaxed, laid-back kind of show.
An aircheck from WBZ for Vernon:
http://airchexx.org/mp3/2006-Adds/July/0864-wbz-summer.mp3
He sounds much more subdued nowadays, with a hint of the Edy’s ice cream or the Motel 6 commercial voice guy to his speaking style.
Web,
That was about it. WBZ was a flamethrower AM in the late 60s and they gave Summer a regular weekday show that I faithfully listened to and sought out the LPs religiously. Cream. Country Joe, The Mothers…
Even the Ultimate Spinach!
More Dick Summer from earlier this year:
This 1st aircheck is hilarious
I just heard them on Technicolor Web of Sound on itunes. :yippee: They seem to have everything psychedelic. All of my faves and stuff i’d never heard before. And they play old radio commercials from the 60’s. You can hear Jefferson Airplane do a white levis commercial and all kinds of other snippets. 8)
KP,
Thanks for the ref, http://www.techwebsound.com/
Talking about obscure bands, I just heard a music show discussing HP Lovecraft. They claimed that they were the original Goth band to emerge from the psychedelic era.
I always thought that Jim Morrison was the original goth. Morrisons’ vocals can be totally goth and his lyrics are too at times.
Oh cool, I’ll have to add Technicolor Web of Sound to my Chumby.
Afternoon gang!
having :bee: delight!
saw many of them working in the sun yesterday.
:bee:
Thanks for the link Web. This is my new favorite station now. They play all the Beatles songs you never hear on the radio.
:pup: Dogs make the best mops ever. I just spilled a bunch of salsa on the floor and she is busily licking it up! :pup:
Dogs are great. I think they’re what keep me alive. I can’t die, ‘cuz my puppies need me.
Damn, that’s quite a mine.
If only that was said by Elmer Fudd.
“The awea pwovides imporwtant feeding gwounds and woosting sites fow wintewing watewfowl and wadews.”
Heheheheheh.
Krista- techweb site is great. I’d forgotten about “The Electric Flag” and am mulling over Captain Beefheart :billcat: :bong:
They keep playing The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, one of my DID’s
And I love Captain Beefheart too. And I love that they play obscure Monkees and all the stuff my friend used to put on compilation tapes that are long gone.
Indian Puddin’ and Pipe- Hashish. Band names really weren’t very good til the 60’s, I have to say.
It isn’t clear whether it was Web or KP but you have ruined my life :tap: I can’t leave the computer because I might miss the Zappa Remington razor commercial :omg: Or the worst version of “Midnight Hour” EVER by something called “The Flat Earth Society” :barf:
