Press the Meat starts out with Snotty Scotty (no doubt Timmy Potatohead will have lots of ‘gotcha’ moments), then an update from yesterday’s DNC Rules Committee meeting with Obamaite Tom Daschle & Clintonista Harold Ickes.
Turning to CBS, Faze the Nation has Howard Wolfson (Clinton Campaign), li’l Lindsey Graham, and Dick Durbin.
On Fux News Sunday, Weselface Wallace recylces Howard Wolfson, plus there’s Obamite David Bonior, the usual Fuxheads, and “Power Player of the Week” Brendan Sullivan.
At the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus has David Axelrod (Obama’s chief strategist), and the Nazi Dough Boy, and Karl Rove. At the roundtable, it’s former Clinton spokesmodel Dee Dee Myers, the WaPost’s E.J. “poupon” Dionne, Matt Dowd, and George :jerk: Will.
Over at CNN’s Late Emission, Uboat Commander Wolf Blitzer has Chris Dodd and David Bonior for Obama, plus Kevin’s Senator Bill Nelson and icky Harold Ickes for Clinton, and Mark Sanford for Johnny McCain. And then there’s Fareed “token” Zakaria and some other assholes.
Later, on 60 Minutes, it’s more recycled stories as police officer Keith Herrera talks to Katie Couric about his involvement in one of the largest police scandals in Chicago history. Then David Martin reports on a “non-lethal weapon” to be used for crowd contro’,” and Lesley Stahl profiles Tom Perkins, about his really big fucking yacht.
My advice? Skip the boobleheads, and go see Poultygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead.
Have a good’un, y’all. And Happy June!
Harold Ickes and Tina Flournoy made the following statement:
Today’s results are a victory for the people of Florida who will have a voice in selecting our Party’s nominee and will see its delegates seated at our party’s convention. The decision by the Rules and Bylaws Committee honors the votes that were cast by the people of Florida and allocates the delegates accordingly.
We strongly object to the Committee’s decision to undercut its own rules in seating Michigan’s delegates without reflecting the votes of the people of Michigan.
The Committee awarded to Senator Obama not only the delegates won by Uncommitted, but four of the delegates won by Senator Clinton. This decision violates the bedrock principles of our democracy and our Party.
We reserve the right to challenge this decision before the Credentials Committee and appeal for a fair allocation of Michigan’s delegates that actually reflect the votes as they were cast.
I did not know that a church could fit underneath a bus.
The little retails are getting more feathers and flapping their wings.
Funny thing is, only a Michigan delegate can bring a challenge to the credentials committee, and the net gain would only be a whopping 4 delegates for Clinton (73 instead of 69). The Clinton campaign was also demanding that ‘Uncommitted’ be treated as a candidate, so those 55 delegates (had it been 73-55 instead of the 69-59 compromise) would not go to Obama.
The Rules and Bylaws Committee had taken a test vote, and voted 14-13 to split the delegates evenly, but the Obama campaign didn’t want that getting rammed through by a one-vote margin, so they opted for the compromise which had been floated by the Michigan delegation itself. Since it was the only ‘unity’ plan put forth by anybody, it passed 19-8 (with 8 people apparently thinking that party unity wasn’t worth 4 delegates that won’t matter anyway).
That was really gross, PJ :yuck:
Looks like a great movie, doesn’t it? It won’t come here, I’m sure, so I hope it makes it to HBO or Starz or Showtime or HDNET soon. Should be impressive in HD.
I can’t do gore and violence anymore. I only want to see fuzzy, happy, funny movies.
But it’s a musical! With fuzzy happy chicken zombies.

After 4 plus years, this Sunday’s Seder on Sundays very well may be my
last regular appearance on the Air America Radio schedule. I’ve been
told that I am one of those being considered for the 3-6pm slot but,
frankly, particularly in this economy, I’d advise you not to place a
bet on it.
Anyway, I will remain and am very appreciative to AAR for letting me
continue as the online editor for AirAmerica.com. We are building an
important online component to progressive talk. That said, I am
confident this will not be the last opportunity for you to hear/watch
me on political talk.
I am proud of my work over the past four years, I started out as a
pretty bad broadcaster but think I ‘ve certainly become mediocre!
Whether on the Majority Report, the SamSederShow or Seder On Sundays,
my ratings have always been an improvement of the show that I have
replaced or better than those that have replaced mine.
Some moments I am particularly proud of..
On the Majority Report, we gave now Senator Jim Webb his first national
exposure when he was still a primary candidate during our Fighting Dem series we did with DailyKos.
I gave Ned Lamont his
first national exposure before he declared for Senate in CT and he
ultimately first “unofficially” declared his run with me on a Friday
when I was filling in for Randi.
The time I got the right wing caller Dewey to cop to having some “feminization issues”.
My long talks with the disputed Senator of Florida Katherine Harriss.
Just last month in the 3-6p slot, in interviewing Phillipe Sands,
author of torture team, I played some exclusive audio of John McCain
for him which he then went on to cite in Congressional testimony.
I’ve had a great opportunity to interview folks like Eddie Vedder to
Ricky Gervais to Desmond Tutu to Gore Vidal to Howard Zinn to Sen. Russ
Fiengold to Robert Altman to Fran Liebowitz, Triumph, Lawrence Lessig
and on and on and on (and of course, Peaches).
Geek alert..Believe it or not, some of my biggest thrills were
having the opportunity to meet bloggers I had read before starting
doing radio–
It was and remains a real honor to have been part of launching air america and institutionalizing commercial left talk radio.
Finally, thank you folks for the tremendous support you have shown
me through the years. I have an unfortunate habit of being outspoken
about things that don’t behoove me professionally and I suspect I would
have been gone long ago without you folks watching my back.
A damn shame he has to end his show.
Why does he have to end it?? If he doesn’t get the 3-6pm slot, that is.
David Bender is taking Sam’s Sunday time slot. Why? Because it’s AAR.
Sam’s SOS contract expired. Though he has not said so, I think Sam was not happy doing Sunday anymore as well as only Sunday for only Sunday money.
Why does he have to end it?? If he doesn’t get the 3-6pm slot, that is.

Juan Crow in Georgia
From the living room of the battered trailer she and her mother call home, Mancha described what happened when she came out of the shower that morning. “My mother went out, and I was alone,” she said. “I was getting ready for school, getting dressed, when I heard this noise. I thought it was my mother coming back.” She went on in the Tex-Mex Spanish-inflected Georgia accent now heard throughout Dixie: “Some people were slamming car doors outside the trailer. I heard footsteps and then a loud boom and then somebody screaming, asking if we were ‘illegals,’ ‘Mexicans.’ These big men were standing in my living room holding guns. One man blocked my doorway. Another guy grabbed a gun on his side. I freaked out. ‘Oh, my God!’ I yelled.”
As more than twenty Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents surrounded the trailer, said Mancha, agents inside interrogated her. They asked her where her mother was; they wanted to know if her mother was “Mexican” and whether she had “papers” or a green card. They told her they were looking for “illegals.”
Sunshine Jim on the radio with Sam!
Re: 20
Sheriff Joe, here is big on harassing Mexicans. I saw a border patrol vehicle cruising my neighborhood a few weeks ago.
Also, when me and a friend went to the gay pride parade we parked in the neighborhood adjacent and this guy having a yard sale was harassing us about taking up parking for his customers. He was drunk and obviously didn’t see the sales opportunity for his yard sale. But my friend didn’t want to leave her new sports car there unattended after he’d threatened damage, so she called the cops and they asked whether the man was “white or hispanic” as if there was no other possibility.
Damn, I forgot to listen to the last half hour of the last Sam show. Oh well, there’s always the podcast.
pj, Try this
SammyCam sound.
Sounds like Maron v. Seder maybe Wednesday. Sounds like Maron or Seder still in play for RR slot. Maybe more Maron than Seder.
